Biography

Sciligion is my personal project. No donations are sought or needed.

I used to think I had most of the big questions in life figured out. However, in studying this question of "science vs. religion" I find that I have much to learn, especially on the science side. Especially important is coming up-to-speed on all the latest advances in microbiology (such as DNA and the various genomes that have been mapped and analyzed).

Much of these articles will reflect my opinion as a seeker of truth. I will be sharing my conclusions and areas of further study... likely it will be light on the "conclusions" and heavy on "further research."

I fully expect to be villified on both fronts. Those who reject anything supernatural will think I'm plainly wrong. Those Christians who take the Bible literally will think that I'm a "liberal" and creating confusion. It doesn't bother me... I'm past that. I'm convinced that the most important thing is to pursue the truth in love. In that sense, I hope to evaluate all sides in a debate but never, ever, ridicule or make fun of an opposing idea or of the person who holds it (not making and torching strawmen of those who are opponents in thought).

I have a full-time position at Intel Corporation, where I have worked since 1984. I'm also the Director of a part-time (501c3 nonprofit) ministry called FreeGoodNews.com . I am an Evangelical Christian and have attended numerous Christian churches in the Portland Oregon area.

I have a highschool diploma from David Douglas High School (1980), a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology (BSEET) from Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT, 1984), and a Masters in Ministry degree (MaM) from Luther Rice University in Lithonia, Georgia (www.lru.edu, 2007).

Matthew 22:34-40 (NIV)

"The Greatest Commandment"

34Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
